Dr. Lantzia (Kx. Tswv Txos) Thao
Dr. Lantzia C. Thao (Kx. Tswv Txos Thoj) was born in Laos and lived in Thailand for four years before coming to Morganton, NC toward the end of 1979 where he went and graduated from Freedom High School. He then continued his educations and graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a BA in Bible & Theology with a concentration in Counseling in 1987, Denver Seminary with a Master Of Divinity in 1990, and Bethel Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry in 2000. He met and married his lovely and beautiful wife, Omee Chang, in 1989. The Thaos have two handsome boys, Timothy and Daniel, and two beautiful daughters, Priscilla and Christina plus a brand new daughter-in-law, Angely Vang. All of their children and the daughter-in-law were TFC graduates or attendee.
After Denver Seminary, the Thao went to pastor three of our Hmong churches including St. Paul Hmong Alliance Church, Leola Hmong Alliance Church, and Twin Cities Hmong Alliance Church. He served as the Director of Church Ministries at the Hmong District for twelve years. Dr. Thao is the current District Superintendent of the Hmong District in his first year term.
Dr. Shahlahng (Kx. Ntxoov Laaj) Herr
Dr. Shahlahng Herr has been in the Ministry for 24 years. He is currently serving as the Hmong District’s Director of Church Ministry. He has a passion for biblical preaching and teaching. His passion is to assist the churches in becoming biblical both in preaching and doing.
He has a BA and a MA from Crown College, one in World Mission and the other in Church Leadership. He completed his Dmin at Anderson University with a concentration on Biblical Preaching.
He lives with his wife, Zoua Anne Herr and their four lovely daughters in Winder, GA, where he served as pastor before coming to the District Office. When he is not working, he loves snowboarding and cruising on his Honda motorcycle.
Rev. Terry Smith
Rev. Terry Smith was appointed as vice president for Church Ministries with The Christian and Missionary Alliance and began serving in this role on December 1, 2017.
Terry has served with the C&MA since 1981. He pastored Alliance churches in Florida and in Pennsylvania as well as serving in the role of church-planting director in three districts. He was elected superintendent of the Eastern PA district in August 2014. Terry also served on the C&MA Board of Directors prior to being appointed as Vice President for Church Ministries in December 2017.
A graduate of Toccoa Falls College, Terry also holds a master’s degree from Crown College. He is the author of Changing Course: Leading Older Churches in a New Direction.
Terry has been married to Ruth since 1977. They have two married, adult sons, and four grandchildren.
Rev. Wang Chao (Kx. Vaam Choj) Lee
Rev. Lee earned his BA in Pastoral Ministry and MA in Church Ministry Leadership from Crown College. He has served as a pastor for 31 years. During those years, he and his wife, Phua have served in 4 Alliance Churches ranging from 50-1500 people. They also served as missionaries to French Guiana in South America for 4 years.
Since January of 2017, Rev. Lee has served as the director for Hmong Christian Institute (HCI) of the Hmong District. He and his wife live together with their 5 teenage children in Thornton, CO
Rev. John (Yuhaas) Yang
Rev. John Yang serves Grace Hmong Alliance Church of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as a senior pastor. He is also a member of the Hmong District DEXCOM Executive Board love serving his district and his church.
Pastor Paul (Xf. Txoos Foom) Yang
Born an animist, raised as an atheist, reborn as a follower of Jesus Christ, and called to preach the gospel. Just celebrated 29 years of marriage. Blessed with 4 daughters, 1 son, 1 son-in-law, and 1 beautiful grand baby girl. Chonfong is passionate about raising up a generation who will stand firm on the word of God. He wants to empower the next generation to be faithful to the Word and share the gospel to the ends of the world.
Currently serving at Hmong New Hope Alliance Church in Georgia as the English Ministry/Associate Pastor since 2014. Member of Hmong District’s DEXCOM. Member of the Georgia Asian Alliance Republican Party. Former President of Hmong District Men’s Ministry. Served as a multi-ethnic church planter for 8 years in the South Atlantic District of the C&MA. Managing Director of Simple Finance and Global One Solutions. Board Member of Donsoco Holdings Corporation. Vice-President of Operation at MPM Group, LLC. CEO of Big Business Solutions, LLC.
Received his undergraduate from Toccoa Falls College and his MBA at Walden University. Currently pursuing his Doctorate of Business Administration at Walden University.
